Collection: Permineralized Fossil Wood

Permineralized Fossil Wood with Quartz dates to approximately the Triassic period (~200 million years old). The structure of these ancient trees are replaced by quartz, leaving a sparkling quartz coting. This material were discovered in the mid‑1980s from the Zwenkau mine which is now closed and no longer accessible, placing existing pieces into secondary circulation only. These are highly sought out for both their geological significance and limited availability.
